We had one that fit right over their fitted sheet-- but it was like a narrow strip of a sheet with a waterproof bottom (maybe about 2 ft. wide) and then the ends tucked around and under the bed. So this way, in the middle of the night if they wet the bed it was super easy to take off and just throw it in the washer. Then they could sleep with their regular flat sheet on the bed the rest of the night. I got it at www.onestepahead.com

Any store carries mattress covers that are for children that still wet the bed. My sister is potty training my niece and she bought the kind that has a cloth on top and plastic underneath. It slides on the mattress and is washable. Good advice... don't buy the solid plastic ones. Try wal-mart. The should have some that aren't really expensive.
my bro wets and my mom just puts garbage bags under old sheets
my wife was sick of the normal bedprotectors cause they make our kids sweat and then they get cold she buys those vynal table cloths with the cotton backing and puts the cotton side up so it doesnt make them cold like just the bed protectors and she just puts their sheets over it of course it works wonders and very very very cheap washable and durable....
